Angels in America

Corona Cold Reads has been one of the funnest things I’ve participated in during these pandemic times. On May 21, 2021, I’m very excited to be playing the part of Hannah in Angels in America, Part 1 (with part 2 coming up the following week). You can watch live or later at My Entertainment World.

True Stories (Told Live) – May 18, 2021

Around three years ago, I saw my first True Stories (Told Live) show and I was mesmerized. I know then that I wanted in on this magical experience. So I emailed Marsha Shandur and expressed my interest. The wait list was over a year away, and I was scheduled in for November 2019.

True Stories (Told Live) is a storytelling event. The storytellers are required to tell a story about themselves, it must be true (as alluded to by the name), and it must be told without a script or props.

As the date approached, my health didn’t cooperate and I was unable to participate. I wrote about it here.

November 2019 was rescheduled to March 2020.

March 2020 was rescheduled to September 2020.

September 2020 was rescheduled to November 2020.

November 2020 was rescheduled to January 2021.

January 2021 was rescheduled to May 2021.

To be clear, I take full ownership of the postponements. They were all done at my request because I just wasn’t ready.

Throughout all the postponements, was a knot in my gut comprised of fear that my stories would be of no interest to an audience; that I had no stories to tell. Indeed, every time I postponed, I had absolutely no idea what story was calling out to me.

A week ago, the story landed.

Tonight, I’m finally meeting (virtually) with Marsha to prep for the show and work out my story. I’m super excited (and quite terrified).

I hope you will join me and the other storytellers on Tuesday, May 18, 2021 at 7:30pm. Tickets can be acquired here.
