Alumnae Theatre Company Save Your Seat fundraiser

Words cannot adequately express how much Alumnae Theatre Company has meant to me since the spring of 2020. The Cyber Reads program has allowed me to be a part of so many incredible plays, and immerse myself in the world of theatre that I have yearned to be a part of for the past 30 years. I have had the amazing opportunity to delve into wonderful scripts and play roles that I would otherwise never get the chance to play. I’ve also had the joy of directing and have the rewarding experience of seeing my visions be brought to life, as well as curating soundscapes. I am also a part of several clubs for directors, actors and new plays in development.

Alumnae Theatre Company is a non-profit theatre company for women that has been around for over a hundred years. It was originally started by women graduates of the University of Toronto in 1918 and has continued with its mandate to provide opportunities in theatre for all who identify as women. It is volunteer run. I have been giving back as the zoom coordinator for Cyber Reads, as well as assisting with scheduling and promotion. Recently, I gave a presentation to the Directors’ Group on how to make use of various features in Zoom to enhance virtual performances.

So when I became aware of this fundraising campaign, I knew that I had to contribute. I purchased a seat that will be in memory of my father, who was a big supporter of me and my participation in this theatre community.

If you are looking for a way to make a difference in our small theatre community, or even just to get another charitable donation receipt for the 2021 tax year, please buy a seat here. You have until December 13, 2021 to do so.
